Charlie came from the shelter as well.

Charlie is a sweetheart of a boy, only a year old. He's happy and fun, and oh so cute.
I can't imagine we'll have him for long before he's adopted.

UPDATE: Charlie is adopted! He's got a great new family that just adores him. :)

Avis and Reuben

April 2011

Picked these two great pups up from the shelter last week.

Avis had been there for almost a month, can you believe it? She was super skinny, but has gained some weight since we've had her.
She's only about 5 months old, and so so sweet. She is smart too, has already learned 'sit' and 'wait'.

May update:
Avis was accepted at HWAC. Look how pretty she was before we left. She'd gained a good amount of weight in that month with us. :)


Reuben is only about 4 months old, and what a character he is! He's got that adorable Pittie face that I just love and want to squish. :)
He thinks it's the greatest thing EVER to be here with all these puppies. He's having the time of his life in the puppy pile.




May Update:
Reuben moved to another foster home for awhile to give us a puppy break. He's such a sweet boy, I can't imagine having him for too much longer before he's adopted!
Update: ADOPTED!

Baylee and pups Update

It's been a long journey for Mama Baylee and her pups as well! I can't believe it's been 4 months!!!

William and Jane were fostered and bottle fed by another foster while we kept Mama Baylee and the other 9 pups here. Unfortunately, we lost little Jane early on. I am still amazed to this day that William survived, he was so tiny, but such a fighter.

When the pups were about 6 weeks old, and ready to be weaned, we brought William here with the other puppies, and Baylee went to the foster mom that had been keeping him.

It's been great fun watching the pups grow, and develop their personalities. I've loved every minute of it (even the tough times), and I love each and every one of the pups.

Mixed emotions every time one of them gets adopted. I'm so happy for them, but at the same time, it's hard to let them go. We've had them for so long that they have become a part of our lives.

We have Baylee back here as well now, and it's great having her back in the house. We've missed her! Her other foster mom had her for about 6-7 weeks while she dried up and got spayed. No more puppies for Baylee!

As of right now, 6 of the pups have been adopted, and 4 are still waiting here patiently for their forever families to claim them.

There are too many photos to share, so I'm only going to share the latest ones.

Edgar (Now Ludo) was the first to be adopted.



Then Charlotte went home.



William and Stephen are adopted together! YAY!





Louisa (now Carly) was adopted by our daughter's roommate, so she lives with Baby (one of the Wonder pups!)



Charles was adopted as well.



Twain, Madeleine, Harper, and Seuss are still here and waiting!






UPDATE: Mama Baylee is ADOPTED!!! 5-9-11. She's got a wonderful new family that loves her! I'm so happy that she finally has found her forever home.

May update:

All of Baylee's puppies have been adopted! Twain and Madeleine were the last to go, and they got adopted TOGETHER! Woo hoo!!!

Wonder Puppies Update

Can you even believe that it's been over 3 months since we got the Wonder Puppies??

Who could have imagined that those sickly, tiny puppies would have turned out to be such gorgeous dogs? Well behaved, happy, and loving life.

We have loved having these pups here, and have rejoiced each time one is adopted.

Baby was never really up for adoption, as she was almost immediately claimed by our daughter.

The first to be adopted was sweet Giza (now Piper Joy).

Then Andria, then Rhod.


We still have Zeus, Hali, and Artie here, and they are waiting patiently for their forever homes.
Absolutely wonderful puppies, and I wouldn't trade our experiences with them for anything. It's been a rough few months with their treatments, but SO worth it in the end!


UPDATE: Hali is ADOPTED! She's got a wonderful new home, where she is loved like she deserves! YAY for Hali!

5-25-11 And now Artie is adopted !!! WOO HOO!!!

Gloria and Monroe

We got Gloria quite awhile ago. She came to us from animal control when they picked her up after she was allegedly tossed out of a moving vehicle. She was just a wee thing, about 8-10 weeks old.
So sweet and loving, very quiet and mellow.
(She is named Gloria for Gloria Gaynor: I will SURVIVE!)

She was at a different foster home for awhile, and then moved here.
She is an absolute HOOT, and we love her. She's got a great personality, and I just love the way that she looks at you... so much expression in her eyes.

She's going to be moving to a different foster home today, and I'll miss her!
I hope that she finds her forever home soon. The family who gets her is so very lucky!


Update 6-1-11

We got Gloria back sometime in May. She was doing great here, and we just love her. Got some new photos of her, updated her petfinder, and BOOM. Lots of calls on Gloria. :)
She was adopted by a beautiful family with a couple little girls who will spoil her like she deserves!
We will miss our sweet Gloria, but I'm so happy for her!









Monroe was one of the Chihuahua's that we got from the shelter in L.A.
He was adopted a few months ago, then returned because he didn't quite fit with the lifestyle of the family who adopted him.
We don't usually do the small dogs here, as our house can be a bit too rambunctious for them, but he had no place else to go, so he came here. He's been here now for a few weeks, and he is such the character! He gets along great with the other dogs, and LOVES to play with the puppies.
We shouldn't have any trouble getting this little guy adopted. He is a fantastic dog!

May update:
Monroe has been adopted! His new family has another Chihuahua, and he seems to fit in perfectly there. :)

Greta and Amos updates

Greta and Amos were both fosters that we had quite some time ago. Both returned. Both cases were devastating.
And BOTH have ended in happiness.

Greta was returned due to her adopters' health issues. She had been with them for many months, and her coming back to us was difficult.
We had her for a couple weeks before the most absolutely wonderful couple found her, and she went home with them. They are perfect for her (and she for them!). I'm so happy for her.



Amos' return wasn't as easy, nor were the reasons as valid. He had been with his adopter for about 9 months. without going too deeply into her circumstances, she was no longer able to keep him.
We had to go pick him up from the shelter, which was awful for him, and for us as well.
I had promised him when we got him from the shelter the first time that he would never have to go through an ordeal like that again. And I was SO upset that it had happened again.

He was happy to come here again, and settled right in. I remembered how much I loved this dog, and was torn up inside feeling as though I had failed him.

But his story also ends on a happy note.
The PERFECT family found him, after only being back with us for about a week.
They have been waiting a long time for a dog just like him, and he's been waiting a long time for a family just like them.
I'm sorry that he had to go through everything that he did, but if it hadn't happened, he wouldn't be where he is now... happy and loved. *happy tears*

Lia, Akira, and Tracy

Little Lia has been through a lot in her short life.
Found abandoned by her owner, she came to us the end of January.



We had her with the Wonder puppies and the Panaca puppies. She absolutely LOVED being a part of all the puppy piles!


She was in 2 different foster homes, before going to HWAC in March. She was accepted there, but then returned due to health issues (which have since been resolved).

We had her here while she was recovering, and during treatment for a month or so, then she went to a different foster home again for a little while, and now she is coming back here again. :) I'm looking forward to having her back, she's a hoot. Hopefully this sweet girl will find her forever home soon. She deserves it!


Update 6-1-11
Lia is still with us. She's getting so much better, learning house manners, and doing fantastic with all the other dogs. Some new photos:

Akira was pulled from the shelter the same time as Jiggs. She'd been in a couple different foster homes before coming here to us, and then we had her for about 6 weeks or so. She LOVED the puppies!
We loved her goofiness, and her sweetness. She loved to cuddle, and loved to play.
She was adopted by a wonderful family who drove many miles to get her.



Tracy has been with us for awhile as well. We had her with Ringo and Bree, and then she went to a different foster home for awhile. She came back here a couple weeks ago, and has been doing really well. She is SUCH a sweetheart. An energetic pup, loves to play, but she's so attentive, and listens well. She's going to make someone a wonderful companion!

UPDATE 6-26-11
After having Tracy for several months with no inquiries for adoption, we decided to take her to CA, and she was accepted at HWAC.
I'm going to miss her, but know that she'll find a really great home in CA. She was a great foster dog, and we loved having her here.

Frankie, Jiggs, Ace, Rosco, and Andy

Frankie was one of the pups we got from LA. He had been in a different foster home for a while, but came here when they could no longer keep him. What a great little dog! He was funny and sweet, and we just loved him! He was adopted by a wonderful family, and we hear that he is doing great!



Jiggs was only here for a short time between foster homes. He was a sweet ol' guy, but he had a hard time with the puppies wanting to play with him, so he didn't stay here for too long.
He has since found a wonderful home (with Gilligan!).



Ace came home with Wade and I from an adoption event up north. What a great little guy! We fell in love with him when we saw him, and knew he had to come home with us if he didn't get adopted. We had him for a few weeks before he went to HWAC.



Rosco was with us for a few days at the beginning when we first got him from the shelter up north, but had been in a different foster home. After he'd been there awhile, we decided to switch up a bit, and expose him to a new environment, so he came here. He was fantastic with the other dogs, and LOVED the puppies. He was adopted, and is much loved by his family!



Andy had been adopted several months ago, but returned for reasons not his fault. He came here, and we fell in love with him. What an awesome dog in every way! We didn't have him long before his perfect forever family found him. He's living the happy life of a lab now, just like he deserves.

Laila, Bree, Ringo, Gigi, Shnookie, Brody, and Teena

All of these pups were here short term, while waiting to go to HWAC.

Laila was here the longest, she was the last of the boxer pups from Tooele. Her brother and sister had both been adopted, and her foster home couldn't keep her any longer, so she came here. She was here for a few weeks before going to HWAC and being accepted.



Bree, Ringo, and Gigi were all staying in our foster kennels temporarily until the HWAC trip. Bree was accepted, Ringo and Gigi came back with us, and went to different foster homes. Since then, Gigi has been adopted (Love that dog!) and Ringo is still waiting for his forever home.





Shnookie, Brody, and Teena were only here for 2 days just before going to HWAC and being accepted.
